What Happens in an Aircond Chemical Overhaul
The indoor unit is dismantled so each part can be soaked and washed - for badly choked or leaking units.
1. Power off, area covered
The unit is switched off at the isolator and the room is protected.
2. Unit dismantled
The indoor unit is taken off the wall and broken down into coil, blower, tray and casing.
3. Parts soaked in chemical
Each part is soaked to break down thick dirt and mould.
4. Parts washed one by one
Every part is washed separately - the only way to clean the blower and tray fully.
5. Fan motor checked
The fan motor is checked for noise and the bearings lubricated if needed.
6. Drain pipe flushed
The full drain pipe is flushed before the unit is remounted.
7. Remounted and tested
The unit goes back on the wall at the right slope for drainage and is run until cold.
8. Gas and compressor checked
Gas pressure and the compressor are checked, with any extra work quoted.
