Aircon Chemical Hydro Wash in Singapore

Also called a hydro jet wash · From $121.44 per unit · 2026

A chemical hydro wash is the deep clean between a chemical wash and a chemical overhaul. The technician takes out the blower wheel and drain tray, treats the coil and blower with a cleaning chemical and rinses them with a high-pressure water jet. The fan coil stays on the wall, so you get a much cleaner blower than a chemical wash gives, without the time and cost of a full strip-down.

The blower wheel is where dust and mould collect in Singapore's humidity. When it is dirty, the aircon smells musty, throws black specks out of the vents and moves less air, even right after a general service. Rinsing it out with a water jet is what fixes that.

What a Chemical Hydro Wash Includes

  1. 1. Inspection and preparation

The technician checks the unit and covers the wall and floor underneath.

  2. 2. Partial dismantling

The front panel, filters, blower wheel and drain tray are removed. The fan coil stays on the wall.

  3. 3. Chemical treatment

A cleaning chemical is applied to the evaporator coil and blower to loosen dirt, grease and mould.

  4. 4. High-pressure water-jet rinse

The coil, blower wheel and drain tray are rinsed with a water jet, which flushes out what the chemical has loosened.

  5. 5. Drainage check

The drain tray and drainage pipe are checked so the rinse water and condensate can flow freely.

  6. 6. Reassembly and testing

The parts go back in, and the unit is run and tested for airflow and cooling.

Additional work, such as a gas top-up or replacing a part, is quoted on site and done only with your approval.

Signs Your Aircon Needs a Hydro Wash

  • A musty or sour smell when the aircon starts
  • Black specks blowing out of the vents
  • Weak airflow even after a general service
  • A blower wheel you can see is coated in dust
  • No deep clean in the last 6 to 12 months

If the unit leaks water or still cools poorly after a recent service, a chemical overhaul is usually the better fix. For water dripping indoors, see aircon leaking water.

Aircon Chemical Hydro Wash FAQs

A chemical hydro wash (also called a hydro jet wash) is a deep clean between a chemical wash and a chemical overhaul. The technician removes the front panel, filters, blower wheel and drain tray, treats the evaporator coil and blower with a cleaning chemical, rinses them with a high-pressure water jet, then reassembles and tests the unit. The fan coil stays on the wall, so there is no full strip-down.
A chemical hydro wash with StringsSG is $121.44 for 1 wall-mounted unit and $324.85 for 3 units, with transport included and no callout fee. The price per unit drops as you add units. Ceiling cassette and ducted units are priced when you choose the mount type in the booking sheet.
A chemical wash (from $84.64) treats the coil and drain tray with minimal dismantling. A chemical hydro wash (from $121.44) also takes out the blower wheel and drain tray and rinses the coil and blower with a high-pressure water jet. A chemical overhaul (from $153.51) takes the whole fan coil unit off the wall and strips it down. Hydro wash cleans the blower and coil more thoroughly than a wash, without the time and cost of an overhaul.
Choose a hydro wash when the unit smells musty, airflow is weak, black specks come out of the vents or the blower wheel is visibly dirty, but the unit still cools and does not leak. Choose an overhaul when cooling is still poor after a recent service, the unit leaks water or it has been unused for months. If you are unsure, book the hydro wash: the technician will tell you on site if the unit needs an overhaul instead.
It is more thorough. A chemical wash cleans the coil but leaves the blower wheel in place, where dust and mould build up on the fins. A hydro wash removes the blower wheel and drain tray and flushes them and the coil with a water jet, which shifts more dirt and is the better choice for a musty smell or a dirty blower.
The technician protects the wall and floor under the unit and collects the rinse water while jet-washing. Please clear the space under the unit and move anything valuable before the visit.
It takes longer than a chemical wash and less time than a chemical overhaul, because the unit stays on the wall. The technician confirms the time on site, and the arrival window for your booking is 2 hours.
For most Singapore homes, a deep clean such as a hydro wash every 6 to 12 months, with general servicing every 3 to 4 months in between, keeps the coil and blower clean. Units that run daily, rooms with pets or homes near a main road may need it more often.
Yes. Chemical hydro wash carries the same 60-day workmanship warranty as our other chemical cleaning services. If the unit develops a cooling or leaking problem related to the service within that time, contact StringsSG support through the app.
Yes. Choose Chemical Hydro Wash in the booking sheet and set the mount type to Ceiling or Ducted. The price updates before you confirm the booking.
